A NEW UNIVERSAL POPE?
Probably during the first 3½ years, some great religious leader arises, called in the Bible: "the False prophet."
He seems like some spiritual authority, who woos and entices all the people in the world, with a "basic human religious need", but who aren't prepared to believe the "style-cramping" God of the "fundamentalists!"
He does not seem to seek worship solely for himself, but rather deceives the entire world population into worshipping the Antichrist!
He does so by performing signs and wonders, perhaps scientific "miracles" like "calling down fire from the sky!"--Atomic Power, or a new form of energy perhaps, like cold fusion? Or economical Solar Power? Or perhaps even anti-gravity propulsion, empowering so-called "flying saucers" in which the Antichrist may even arrive on the world scene, deceiving the worldlings that he is some kind of extra-terrestrial?--The terrible king from the sky that Nostradamus foresaw?
Again, time will definitely tell! But remember Jesus' own warning, that the deception will be so great worldwide, that if it were possible, the very elect of His chosen children would fall for the deception as well! "Be ye not deceived!"

THE ANTICHRIST'S EXECUTIVE PROMOTER.
This "(an)other beast", unlike the other beasts--governments or empires--that came up "out of the sea" or the people, this beast rises up out of the earth! — Perhaps this is symbolic of authority by religion, as opposed to authority by election of the people? Time will tell.

"TWO HORNS LIKE A LAMB"
"It had two horns"--kings or kingdoms--"like a lamb", in other words resembling Christianity or even Jesus Himself, who is also called "the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world." But these lamb's horns are from a false lamb, a false Christ or a false Christianity, professing to be Christian, yet speaking like the Devil. Like Bill Clinton going to church on Sunday, and coming out defends murder of unborn babies. A Christian nation that stands up against so-called "rogue" countries like Saddam's Iraq and Libya's Khaddaffi, justifying crusades against them, like the gulf war, which was actually fought over oil!
Or two lamb's horns may signify 2 religious powers, some new religion taking Christianity's place, either by replacement or via infiltration. Could they represent New Age elements in both Catholicism and Protestantism, finally succumbing to a new false Christ and this false "John the Baptist", the False Prophet? Some kind of ultimate dangerous fusion of Church and State, a New Age world religion supported by the One World Government? Or, do these 2 horns mean infiltrated Christianity and ISLAM, as Moslems also believe in Jesus, as a prophet and the "spirit of God!" ("Isa Ruh Allah") --The one horn believing that a new "Christ" has "come again", and the other that the "Majih"--the predicted Moslem Savior--has finally arrived? Again, time will tell!

TRUE CHRISTIANS & MOSLIMS WON'T BE DECEIVED!
Both true Christians and true Muslims, will not stand for this "False prophet" or be hoodwinked by this "Messih el Daijel" the Moslim name for the Antichrist, the false "one eyed" anti-God impostor, foretold in the Quran! They will all 'smell a rat', Even the legalistic, orthodox Jews, will finally discover that the Antichrist is NOT their Messiah after all, as he will desecrate their new temple, halt and abolish their Daily Sacrifice, and finally outlaw all these "Fundamentalist religionists!"
Especially when the False Prophet, finally puts an idol, a false image, which Jesus called "the Abomination of Desolation" in that very temple, all 3 monotheistic religions will be offended by this idolatry. Especially when they, by rejecting this super idol, cannot buy and sell their basic needs anymore. Then, a true "separation of church and state" will occur, because all true worshippers of the one true God, will stay true to their covenants with Him, and either fight for their religion or stand up for their faith, many of them dying in the process! Jesus told His followers, that when they shall "see the Abomination of Desolation standing in the holy place", to not stick around nor resist, if they can help it, but to FLEE! Matt 24:15

Revelation 13:11-15
11 And I saw another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spoke as a dragon. 12 And he exercises all the power of the first beast before him, and causes the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. 13 And he does great wonders, so that he makes fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, 14 And deceives them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live. 15 And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.

"And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone. Rev. 19:20
"And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever. Rev. 20:10
